The awarding of a certificate from either Kyambogo University or UNITE represents a significant achievement and milestone for student teachers upon completion of their course of study. It plays a crucial role in enhancing career prospects, fostering lifelong learning, and recognizing students' dedication to their educational goals.
Our college receives financial support from the government to help offset operating costs and provide education at subsidized rates for students. This enables broader access to education, promotes social equity, and contributes to national development goals through the education and empowerment of students. in addition the government provides oversight that ensures strict adherence to stringent standards.

We have recently transited from a certificate awarding college (which we have been doing since 1982) to a Diploma awarding College. This is in line with the new National Teacher Policy 2018. We believe in fostering transformative educational experience. By the end of the two year course of study the teacher has the requisite skills and disposition to stimulate learning in any primary child put before him. We are dedicated to academic excellence, innovation and creativity, research and honesty. Diversity and inclusivity is our other strong point which means that we strive to create an environment where every individual is valued, respected and supported. Amos Awira Okumu is a dedicated, resourceful and goal-driven Professional educator with a solid commitment to the social and academic growth and development of every student. He is a senior Tutor at Kitgum Core Primary Teachers' College. Currently,he is a Care Taker Deputy Pricipal Pre-service. He also serves as a CCT (centre Coordinating Tutor ) for Padibe Coordinating Centre. Amos holds a Masters Degree of Arts in Literature from Uganda Christian University, Mukono. He studied Administrative Officers Law course of Makerer University leading to the award of Certificate in Administrative Law. He is a professional educator of over 23 years of strong track record and diverse work experience with a wealth of expertise in English Language, Foundations of Education and Education Management and Administration. He spends most of his leisure time reading and analysing novels, especially by African Writers, and Political Journals. He demonstrates superior interpersonal and communication skills to foster meaningful relationships with students , staff and the community and with exceptional ability to establish cooperation, unity and team work.
The Outreach Department of Kitgum Core Primary Teachers’ College welcomes you to understand more about the department. The department was established in 1994 under the Primary Education Reform Programme (PERP). The Deputy Principal Outreach (DPO), heads the department and it handles the training of In-service Primary school teachers in up grading courses, conducting Continuous Professional Development (CPD), developing the Coordinating Center into a Model School, Conducting guidance and canceling, coaching and mentoring of school administrators, and teachers through Peer Group Meeting (PGM), Focus Group Discussion (FGD) in the cluster school and Community Mobilization. The department works closely in a collaborative manner with the teachers, school administrators, Parents, community leaders and sub county/district/municipal/Ministry of Education and Sports officials to effect positive changes in attitudes, skills, methods, planning, techniques, knowledge and many other things. All these elements mentioned are interrelated and influence improved children learning hence need collective effort of the various stake holders. The above activities are done in a synergistic tactics at the school/community level. It covers intervention, support, assistance and supervision by the Center Coordinating Tutors (CCT) with those who influence improved learning. Specific to Kitgum CPTC, the outreach department stretches to four (4) administration units namely; Lamwo, Agago, Pader and Kitgum districts. A small unit joined to Kitgum district is Kitgum Municipal Council. The four administration units hold twenty one (21) Coordinating Centers with 21 CCTs. These 21 centers are the arms that the government through the Ministry of Education and Sports uses it to make Basic Education at Pre-primary and Primary education to reach the communities.

Whether planned deliberately or arising naturally due to favorable conditions, cashew trees in colleges provide a unique connection between agriculture, education, and sustainability.
